	The Technical Services Department is the department that is virtually "invisible" to the public. This department handles all the "behind the scenes" operations ensuring that all Library materials are ordered, processed and made readily available for the public. On the average, over 10,000 items are purchased in a fiscal year. These items are processed and entered into the Swan Library Circulation System, which allows online circulation and interlibrary loads to all libraries in MLS, as well as other library systems. The Technical Services Department maintains records for the library collection and statistical data for acquisitions and the deletion of library materials. The department is also responsible for mending damaged items if possible. Laminating is provides to the public on Monday and Thursday of every week. Materials must be turned in before 10:30 AM on the day of lamination. Please note that items cannot exceed 24 inches in width. Currently, the laminating fee is 75 (seventy five) cents per foot.
