COMPUTER 
WORKSHOPS
AT THE LIBRARY


The Calumet City Public Library is pleased to announce a series of computer workshops in the Library’s Technology Center Training Room.  These workshops will cover a variety of computer and Internet related subjects and software. Registration for these workshops must be done in person at the Adult Services Reference Desk.  There is a $10.00 cash nonrefundable fee for each workshop.

Computer Workshops offered include...

Introduction to Computers
(This is a very introductory workshop for people who know little or nothing about computers and/or the Windows operating system)

Introduction to Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word Part II (only available for people who have already taken the Introduction to Microsoft Word workshop)

Introduction to E-Mail

E-Mail part II (only available for people who have already taken the Introduction to E-Mail workshop)

Introduction to Microsoft Access

Introduction to Internet Searching

Internet Searching Part II

Introduction to Microsoft Excel

Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint

Introduction to Microsoft Outlook 


It is recommended that people who lack basic computer skills take the “Introduction to Computers” workshop before they take the other workshops.  For more information, contact the Adult Services Desk at (708) 862-6220 ext. 2.

   BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP

The Calumet City Public Library Book Discussion Group meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 2:00 PM.  Copies of the books may be picked up at the Adult Services
 Reference Desk.

Wednesday, October 3, the book will be 
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan: A Novel 
by Lisa See.

Wednesday, November 7, the book will be Pride and Prejudice  by Jane Austen.     
 
Wednesday, December 5, the book will be The Hungry Tide  by Amitav Ghosh.

2007 SUMMER READING 
CONGRATULATIONS

             SCREENINGS

Nancy Dornhecker, Ingalls Memorial Hospital representative, will be available for Blood Pressure Screenings on Wednesday, September 19, and Wednesday, November 14, between 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM.  No appointment needed.
