protection?  What does it all mean and how can you protect your computer system and your 
personal information?  Richard Gast, Calumet City Public Library Technology Department Head, will review the related terminology, identify issues and questions to be addressed when setting up computer security, and provide an overview of the latest options in software.  This program will be held in our Technology Training Center on 
Thursday, January 24, at 7:00 PM.  Seating is limited and registration is required.	
TAX ASSISTANCE 2008

The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) volunteers will be available to prepare 2008 taxes on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 
10:00 AM to 1:00 PM starting February 6.  Assistance will be provided on a first come first serve basis. 
ART  DISPLAY

Local African American artist, Quinton 
Foreman,will display his works in the Adult Services Department from February 4 through March 15.  Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Mr. Foreman grew up on Chicago’s South Side and now lives in Calumet City.  This popular artist enjoys using African symbols in much of his work.  He has worked in various media, including stained glass, mosaics, acrylics, oils, photos, pencils and ink.  His artwork may be viewed anytime during library hours.

MODEL TRAIN SHOW

Mark your calendars to visit the Hi-Rail Modular Train Club Show in our Community Room on Saturday, February 9, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, or Sunday, February 10, 12:00 Noon – 4:00 PM.   Steam engines of yesteryear, to sleek 
streamlined passenger trains, to the gigantic modern diesel workhorses of today can be seen on the beautifully detailed layout.  Club members will be available at all times to discuss the 
background of individual models or share their enthusiasm for their hobby.  Fun for all ages!

Discussion Group meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 2:00 PM.  Copies of the books may be picked up at the Adult Services

             SENIOR BINGO

Senior citizens, age 55 or older, are invited to an afternoon of fun and refreshments when we gather for another Senior Bingo Party on Tuesday, January 22, at 2:00 PM.  Prizes will be awarded to game winners.  Registration for this activity will be accepted beginning Tuesday, January 8.  Seating is limited.

                     CPR CLASS

Saturday, January 12, at 9:00 AM, the Calumet City Professional Firefighters Association will 
provide CPR Training.  This training covers 
certification for CPR on infants, children, and adults.  Registration must be done in person along with a $30.00 fee. No checks please.

This class will also be offered on Saturday, 
March 8, at 9:00 AM.

           BLOOD PRESSURE 
               SCREENINGS

Nancy Dornhecker, Ingalls Memorial Hospital 
representative, will be available for Blood 
Pressure Screenings on Wednesday, January 16, and Wednesday, March 19, between 
2:00 PM –3:00 PM.  No appointment needed.
